Gods and Essence

    The motes of Essence in a god's possession are it's very life force. When a god spends motes it feels weary and when it has a full Essence pool feels lively and energetic. If a god spent all it's Essence it would no longer exist as an Essence pattern and fade away. When a god (or another spirit) does when it spends Essence is spend itself. Gods have peripheral Essence pools which they can spend with obvious effect. They can also spend Essence from their Personal Essence pool but it's not something a god does lightly. They are spending the Essence that makes up the core of their being. By spending Peripheral Essence they're also spending part of themselves but less important outer layers that can be more easily spent and recovered. Worship is so important to gods because people are spending their valuable motes dedicated to the god itself so that Essence becomes part of the god's form. For every day of dedicated worship to the god they recover a number of motes equal to the Magnitude of the group praying to them. This is why Creation often holds day-long festivals. If a group taking part in dedicated worship has an Essence greater than one multiply it's magnitude by their Essence. Enlightened human priests are often separated into different castes according to their spiritual advancement. Such priests spend virtually every day of their lives in devotion and directing the worship of the masses.
   Demons often promote just enough of their servants to induce hopes of betterment to keep their underlings loyal.

    The Haltans live in the treetops and sleep under the stars. So far to the east the trees grow far higher and more densely than they do elsewhere. The canopy is thick and blots almost all the light from the forest floor making it almost impossible to tell whether it's day or night. In this perpetual twilight lights of the Fair Folk glow in an unearthly wilderness unseen outside the Wyld.
 
   Lunars' spirit shapes don't have to be ordinary, conventional animals. One of them assumed the shape of a giant, twelve legged cat. Some of them aren't even animals that exist in Creation. Such are the expressions of the Chosen of Luna. Knacks are expressions of the Lunar given form by their protean nature.

   Life in Yu-Shan- Spirited Away


   Some Lunars gain names from their spirit shape. Like the wingless Flying Wolfdragon.


   If the thing a god has domain over is lost they lose their power and influence and end up in the slums begging for Essence.
   All the gods naturally live in Yu-Shan and sometimes visit Creation to spend time in their domain. Elementals live in Creation and carry out the wishes of the gods who can instruct them immediately from Heaven.

Elementals and gods

    Precincts of Elementals and gods. Nature of an elemental controls an aspect of Creation's form. Ice elementals control the weather.
   Thunderbirds Ice elementals that fly above clouds and create thunder when the flap their wings. While each elemental is a distinct being with it's own personality and experiences they can also be categorised into groups that share variants of identical characteristics in the way that tigers always hae orange fur and black stripes but each tiger's stripes can be used to identify it. Gods however are unique.
