It was not that the existence of the Solars, and to a lesser extent the Lunars and the Sidereals, has been eradicated from history. Rather their earlier identity had been lost under a history of decadence and absolute power. No one even recognised the Solars as Solars anymore. The Zenith Caste had long since become tyrants, priests of a god in whose name they no longer spoke and whose power they only abused not carried out. The Twilight Caste, once great enlighteners and brilliant sorcerers, had turned into twisted experimenters pushing the boundaries of knowledge with no care for humanity or their own souls. Even the Solars had forgotten what they were. In ancient histories, old enough to become myths, great heroes called Lawgivers raised mankind to rule the world. In the third age of the Old Realm their epithet became replaced by one far more fitting given to them by their Dragon-Blooded underlings: Anathema. They were no longer recognisable as or knew that they used to be Sun-Kings. Instead they'd become living demons. Great mortals would be chosen by a corrupting force that would twist their souls as they power swelled to inhuman proportions making the as evil as they were almighty. It was in this atmosphere of tyrany and oppression that the five Dragon-Blooded who would become known as the Immaculate Dragons started to foment rebellion against them.

    Did the Fair Folk somehow overcome or deactivate the Elemental Poles and then pass into the Circle of Earth, the main fortress at the heart of Creation and then were driven back before they could overcome that as well? Were the Poles diminished or did the Scarlet Empress find some way to restore them when she asserted her rule over Creation. Does an elemental dragon have to be at one of the Poles to assure it's stability?
   Where a element is strong it attracts Essence.
    Essence effects each element differently. It follows water to flow in rivers. It spreads from the Pole of Wood and where it spreads forests grow.

   The raging heat of the Pole of Fire is enough to bake Creation dry for a thousand miles in every direction.
   The heat of the Pole of the South and the cold of the Pole of the North are impossible for anyone to survive but are invigorating to the elemental dragons that lived there.
   The contrived nature of the Immaculate Order reflects the approach to writing the game as a whole. Instead of being a mystic order devoted to worshipping the elemental dragons who are the forefathers of the Terrestrial Exalted whose disappearance in a forgotten age has been surrounded by myth, they are deliberately manipulated tools living by the contrived ideology of a third party as is so often the case in Exalted for example the Angry Ghosts. There just aren't any real conspiracies. Perhaps they believe, understandably if incorrectly, unknowing of the Primordials, that it was the Elemental Dragons who created Creation and after their work was complete and they made the Terrestrial Exalted to follow in their footsteps, ascended to Heaven. They pieced together from scattered bits of lore that the Elemental dragons look down on them and select members of their bloodline worthy to be Exalted. After correct conduct during their lives their soul becomes one of the Dragon Blooded and then they finally go to Heaven to join the Elemental Dragons. The world has long since forgotten the Celestial Exalted. The Solar Exaltations imprisoned, the Sidereal Exalted self occulted and the Lunar Exalted driven out of Creation entirely and forced to spend one and half thousand years of exile in the Wyld battling against the Fair Folk as the Primordials once did.
   All that remains are monuments whose purpose has long been lost and tales of the end of the First Age about the hideous cruelty of demons the Elemental Dragons fought against.
   Now everything has been turned upside down. The Sidereals' desperate gambit of removing the Celestial Exalted from Creation forever lest they destroy it and the dragon blooded rule in their stead has failed. The Scarlet Empress has disappeared and the one ruling force across Creation removed the rule of the Terrestrial Exalted seems ready to collapse. The Sidereals themselves having watched Creation from Heaven and only carefully under false identities to direct Wyld Hunts to remove wayward Celestial Exalted are forced to take a more active hand and return to Creation once more. Now that the empire of the dragon blooded is no longer fit to contain them the Lunars can now return to Creation and end their imprisonment outside reality. The Solar Exaltations spill out across Creation remaking heroes the world has not seen for millenia.
   The Sidereals created the Immaculate Order as an ideological bastion to prevent anyone from supporting the Celestial Exalted again. The only remnants of memory of the Celestial Exalted are the Anathema, demonic beings who the Elemental Dragons battled against as they tried to destroy everything the dragons created.

    With the collapse of the world controlling First Age technology caused by the disappearence of the Solar Exalted and the continuing wars of the Shogunate worship of gods and elementals has made a huge resurgence as the elemental energy has no longer been dominated by the Solars' geomantic engineering leaving the elementals redundant. Now they are in control again and have power, not just over their elements but over people. People who were originally made to empower the Primordials by worshipping them and now free to worship the elementals and gods on who their survival depends.
   Entering one of the five elements is a bit like entering a sanctum. It is the elemental's natural domain and is never easy to enter. Whether it's standing on a wind-swept snowy peak, crawling through a tunnel under a mountain or sailing across a river no one travels and elemental's domain if hey are angered. A boat only floats if the water elementals allow it to. Setting out on the water or entering into it is a religious transition they are entering a different world controlled by unseen beings. Since the collapse of the First Age people have become very spiritual and very primitive. Instead of the wonders of the Celestial Exalted they have been required to call on spirits for mystical aid; not all of them call on gods or elementals...

    The disappearence of the Scarlet Empress heralded to Age of Sorrows which was given it's ominous curtain raiser by the conquering of Thorns and the open existence of the long-scheming Deathlords and the appearence of the Abyssal and Infernal Exalted. But there is reason for hope too. The Solars have returned and may save mankind again. With turmoil overtaking the Realm and the Wyld Hunt now in check the Lunars are free to play their powerful hand again and may well come to the side of the resurgent Lawgivers. Which side will the Sidereals stand on? Will they continue to surpress the Lunars and the returning Lawgivers pitting themselves against the enemies of the Deathlords and their former comrades, or will they accept the failure of the Dragon-Blooded rule after a millenium and a half of upholding it no matter how bloody or duplicitous the cost.
